I've managed to get out of going to Wales next week since I'd be trying to get there for 7pm while finishing work at 2pm. Instead I seem to be going to Sweden for a week next month instead and looking after my Granddad when he visits. Oh dear.
Only two people turned up for my birthday dealie, I should have just cancelled it. Every year I try to do something and it never turns out the way I want it to. Next year I'm definitely foregoing any birthday celebrations.
Earlier I caught the season premieres of SG-1, Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica. SG-1 was good, but there was too much setting up of the plot for this season, and Galactica didn't do much to tie up any of the cliffhangers from last season, but still rocked. Atlantis took my breath away though. So much happened that the episode felt like went on for two hours. This is one of the few cases where an episode resolving a cliffhanger is better than the preceding episode. I might watch it again before I go to bed.
I walked down Oxford Street in seach of a book (Absolution Gap by Alastair Reynolds) and found it half price in Foyles because the cover was bruised and battered. Yay. I nearly bought the new Harry Potter book but I like finishing a book without knowing what I'm going to read next. I feel bogged down if I buy too many books at once these days. I'm not that big a fan of Harry Potter anyway. I can certainly wait a few weeks (or months) before reading it. In fact I might wait until right before the last book is released before reading this one.
Hmmm, I'm thirsty and I want orange juice. Let's see what Paddington has to offer in the range of late night shops.
